Hi, I just bought COD 2 on Steam yesterday and I'm having trouble with launching multiplayer. It's just black screen then instantly quit, or CODMP_s has stopped working. I'm playing on a laptop, I have an earphone plug into the jack and it's still not work.

My brother was also having similar issues. The single-player was running fine, but the multi-player shows a black screen. Later on he had checked out the minimum requirements by visiting at Instant Gaming, where it has mentioned that the Memory should be 8 GB RAM.
I think you should check out the system requirements need to play Call of Duty World War 2.
The minimum requirements that are needed:
OS- Windows 7 64-Bit or later
Processor- CPU: Intel Core i3 3225 3.3 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1400
Memory- 8 GB RAM
Graphics- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 @ 2 GB / GTX 1050 or ATI Radeon HD 7850 @ 2GB / AMD RX 550
DirectX- Version 11
Network- Broadband Internet connection
Storage- 90 GB available space
Sound Card- DirectX Compatible
