Perhaps a GameTracker Admin can look into this for me. I'm aware that the server rankings are cumulative but what exactly is your calculation for ranking. The reason I'm asking is that my server has consistently had more BF3 Players in it than even some of the top 100 over the past few weeks and yet it still is sitting in a higher ranking. It seems it has not moved out of the 500 rank for U.S. server filter for a few days now.

Here is an easy way to compare servers.

1) Go to your server page in one tab
2) Scroll down to the Historical data block
3) Click to view the monthly graph
4) Open another server page in another tab
5) Scroll down to the Historical data block
6) Click to view the monthly graph

You should be able to see differences between servers, unless they are close in rank, which may be harder to differentiate.

Thanks for responding burn. I understand the comparative views feature. I guess the question I'm asking specifically is: "What formula or calculation method does GameTracker use to determine the ranking stats and how often does the calculation occur? Is it real-time or does the system "rank" periodically?"


Also 1 more question if you would be so kind as to guess perhaps why our TS3 server banner (although it is up and online) sometimes displays as down?

Rank is updated once per day for servers. Unfortunately the algorithm cannot be posted publicly. Overall, rank does look at the past month of traffic on your server. It considers the recent week of traffic the most strongly, though.

As far as the TS3 server, you can try whitelisting the scanner IPs mentioned in http://www.gametracker.com/games/ts3/forum.php?thread=42258
