Many people asking me that How to use DNS. So, here you go!


Step 1 : Create an account in www.noip.org (It's a totally free service!)

Step 2 : Login in to your account.

Step 3 : Once you have logged in to your account. You should see the page like this. Just click on the "Manage Hosts" tab.



Step 4 : Click on "Add a Host".

Step 5 : Fill the "Hostname" and fill up your NEW server IP address.
Note: Don't use port in the "IP Address" Section.



Step 6 : Now click on the "Add Host".



Step 7 : Login into the GameTracker account and open up your server page.(You must have claimed your server to use this feature)

Step 8 : Go to the "Manage" tab.And search for "DNS" tab.

Step 9 : Now, Put the DNS name and click on "Update DNS".




And That's Done!

Notes:

1) DNS will only work if your have the same port.
2) You have to claim both server in order replace the rank old server to new server.

when i want replace rank do i have to change the old Ip address to the new ip address on the DNS Zone's A record then put it on the new ip and remove from old ip in gametracker ?

- i understand how to make a dns name and point it to the ip! all i want know now is after i point the dns name to the old ip which i want mingrate rank from it ot the new server what should i do !!!

If you have claimed both the old as well as new server then you will see the migrate option on the new server.

i see it , but all i should do it point the dns a record to the original ip and after adding dns to the original server on the gametracker i have to change the a record again to the new ip and put dns on the new server ! just like that ?
