Listen Gametracker, many people lost server ranks cause of some technical problems at your end.

You need to look at the data for ranks before the problem happened and reset everyone back to that time...

or

Reset the server ranks for the people affected so they only lose 1 week or a few days of ranking.

Otherwise, people will start sending you the bill for all the money wasted on the costs of getting these servers popular and keeping them busy.

Just fix the ranks properly as best as possible to be fair to people.

So, may I ask when are you guys going to be finished? So I know if I should start readding my missing servers now or still to wai? I dont want to add them now and possibly reset my ranks if there is a possibility to wait and hopefully regain most of my stats after you are completely done with the updates.

I have to say, from a background of many years of top end database management and system migration, I would have expected a recovery from the last known valid state of the database.

I understand quite clearly why ranks can not be 'restored' directly , (I love the simplicity of the average person's view on these things), but restoring to the last known valid state would have seemed most logical, and certainly how it would be done in the majority of business systems (system dependent to some extent of course).

IMO likely the most fair option for all concerned as well.

To lose a week of stats would be unfortunate, to reset many of them and not others is surely careless?

As I am still receiving the database error message, and server not in the database screen, can I assume that our server is 'toast' or is there some hope of recovery yet?

Still think restore to a last known valid state would have caused you less grief and complaint.

I see finally the gametracker no respect us and do not make the old ranks back.
I see my server cs 1.6 400 rank and now I add that again and my rank is 42602.
I lost one month for that and I spend more 150 euro and we lost that
in 1 minutes and now they can not help us.
Very strange all that because you choose delete only some servers and
not all servers.
How did you do that?
why you do not back up server ranks and all fine.
If you want correctly against us you must fix that

I really doubt that because you recover 2 of my servers that are offline more than 6 months from now and those servers have rank. But my actuall servers all are reset to place 6000 -.- This is how your backup works -.-

And now I can't even delete it because I cant claim because they are dead.

So while rank is being recalculated. What about the people already playing in my server, and filling it up, untill I get my normal rank back?

Will those people that have joined it and played there, contribute to make my server rank better or at least maintain it?

Or are they simply "ghost" joiners, untill the recalculated rank comes back, and will not be calculated into my server rank?

And its also very oddly that top 25 servers (this is for l4d2), havent been effected at all. At least what I could see.

GL with that. Here is my 2 servers that I don't do anything with them (today I only claim it) and they don't be restored in any way... GT only restore Game Type and this is it -.-

Now it is unfair for everybody from top (many ppl who wrote in this topic have server in top100 in they game) and now they need to start over. And some random servers are now in top. So reset the whole ranking and it will be fresh start for everyone. Now you make 6000 tf2 servers start with they rank and 4000 tf2 servers start with nothing. And this is fuck*d up and extremely unfair!
