My steam name is Jello2jedi the Spengineer, and I frequent the SGCGuns#57 idle server. One of the admins, Dogbreath(numbers) banned me for saying "fuck". "No cursing" is not one of the rules, so he had no grounds to ban me on. Can my ban please be lifted?

Yes, swearing is not one of the written rules. However excessive cursing goes under the unwritten common sense rule. There are players of all ages, so to speak playing on our servers. Also some people find cursing offensive. That being said, sometimes bans are warented given certain circumstances.

So please hold tight while information is gathered regarding the ban and someone will respond to you regarding the ban shortly on what has been decided.

During the time that he was online, I had said it once. I did not know he was an admin, I merely thought he was someone who was offended by cursing, so I kinda just disregarded it. He said that I could be banned for it, and when I tried to be polite in disagreeing with him, he banned me. If it is that big of a deal to him, I apologize profusely. I just thing its unfair that I am banned because of one small thing like that while some others get away with breaking actual written rules. I will wait patiently for the verdict.

I thought it was a permanent ban, that would have been outrageous.

Do not worry, though we admins do have the ability to ban people, we have people that check on, and review the bans in order to ensure that the right is not abused. We do not take banning players permanently lightly. A player has to be a real.....jerk....in order to be banned permanently. Generally breaking the rules once or twice will only warrant a temporary ban.

So we encourage players to use this forum such as you have to find out about their bans, and protest them if they think that they are banned unjustly.

I asked you to watch the language (as I do all who use foul language when I am on) in which you replied with a wise crack response... so I gave you a day to think about it.

That server is SGC owned, not Steam. You are a guest in our house; kids come on and play; some of them the admins's kids. It is the discretion of every admin to determine whether conduct by the players is courteous to others. I asked you to watch the language. You ignored an admin (rule violation) and gave me a smartass response. Done and done..

To my memory, I only said it once. I also had no idea you were an admin, I thought you were a troll who got a kick out of annoying people, so that is why I responded in the manner I did. Now, I am not trying to disrespect you by saying that, it's just that so many people are like that, so do not take it the wrong way. So yes, I guess I did disobey an admin, but it's only because I had no idea you were one. I apologized, it's in the past, so can we drop it and just try to get along? Thank you.

u never know if there is an admin online. we could be on under a different name or there could be someone u have never seen before. just follow the rules and watch ur language.

the problem is language. i play a lot on 57 and we have a lot of ppl that use bad language. if i do ban evry singel man or woman that use bad language i probaly have to ban around 30-40 ppl evry day. now to my question jello2jedi. i dont know if you use mic or type it. but why do you have to say the f word as other players see it? when i get angry and want to say it i screem it out loud and when i say it it is only me that can heare it. and that helps a lot. nobody can ban me for it and it does the same. so why do you need to use bad language so others can see it?
